The Crystal Palace vs Everton live stream sees these two Premier League sides entering the FA Cup at the third round, but which team will be crashing out at the first hurdle?

Things haven't gone exactly to plan for Crystal Palace so far this season. It all started fairly promisingly for the Croydon club, with 12 points taken from their first eight league games, but Roy Hodgson's side have been uninspiring ever since and find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone. Defeat to Man Utd in the Carabao Cup back in September leaves a successful FA Cup campaign as the Eagles' best chance of any glory in 2024, but Everton will have plans for a run of their own.

It's been an even more turbulent 2023 for Everton. After a rocky start, Sean Dyche's side were just starting to find some form ā€“ wins away at West Ham and Crystal Palace left them in 14th place in the table ā€“ when they were hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League's financial rules. Without that the Toffees would be a top-half team, so while staying up will be their priority, the fact that they're also out of the Carabao Cup leaves the FA Cup as Everton's only chance of silverware.

The Eagles and the Toffees are aiming to go one better than last season's short-lived run in the competition, having both been eliminated in the third round.

Palace signed off from 2023 with a come-from-behind win over Brentford, ending an eight-game winless run in the process, but Everton endured a miserable festive period.

After winning seven of nine games heading into Christmas, Everton lost four in a row in across all competitions - including a Carabao Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Fulham.

Palace, who have finished as runners-up in the FA Cup twice, come into Thursday's clash on the back of their 3-1 win against Brentford at Selhurst Park, which snapped their eight game winless streak.

Roy Hodgson will be hoping his side can improve on last year's FA Cup run, which saw Palace knocked out in the third round following a 2-1 home defeat against Southampton.

Everton were on a roll under Sean Dyche, but the Toffees have lost their last four games in all competitions, including being knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the quarter-final stage.

Dyche's side now sit one point above the bottom three, and Everton will be hoping a decent FA Cup campaign can lift spirits around Goodison Park.

Everton have been in the midst of the Premier League relegation battle ever since their point deduction for financial irregularities, while a recent dip in form has slumped Crystal Palace nervously towards the bottom three as well.

Both sides will know progression in domestic cup action could provide an opportunity for a confidence booster, but risking too many first-team players in competitions of lower priority could simultaneously jeopardise their chances at all-important league survival.

Crystal Palace will be looking to avoid another early Cup exit this season after they were dumped from the EFL Cup in the third round back in late September. Everton, meanwhile, reached the quarterfinals of this year's EFL Cup, only dropping out thanks to a penalty shootout against Fulham last month.
